Today must have been a success, because the team made the 120 miles planned and stopped close to Oban. It probably didn't feel so wonderful, as the weather was, in Paul's words "absolutely shocking", with driving rain and very low temperatures making feet feel like blocks of ice. The sun came out later in the day, but the temperatures remained more like winter than summer.
They had to search for a B&B, as many seemed to be already booked, but found an excellent establishment, and were driven to the pub by the proprietor – maintaining the Scottish reputation for hospitality!
Another 120 mile day is planned for tomorrow, when the route leaves the West coast and follows the line of Lochs known as the Great Glen, from Fort William to Inverness. They should reach Loch Ness by early afternoon, and hope to reach Dingwall, just North of Inverness, for the night.
