A dull but dry day at Alton Towers for this premiere English XC event. The venue was spectacularly muddy, so much so that there had been injuries in earlier races and the courses for both senior events were changed and slightly shortened (though still 10k for the men). Wilmslow raced well in both events, with overall results as follows:-
