Bradley Wood, Huddersfield 23/10/2011
There was a new venue for the Woodland Challenge this year and a fairly gruelling multi-terrain course mixing footpaths, trail, towpaths and road all over gradients that were "steep as Stainland" and added up to rather more than 10km.
I was in close contention for most of the race but Barnsley ground away from me up a long climb then was just too fast in the final downhill mile. The goody bag included a can of mushy peas. The challenging course and large number of Stainland Lions runners gave it the feeling of a Summer Series race.

326 finishers
Oh God, now Tony will have it in mind for next years series!!
