Good to see people penning their experiences of London, but would they send such articles to her for inclusion in the newsletter instead of going straight to website.
For what it is worth I really like seeing some of the major race reports on the web as the information is current and therefore more relevant / interesting.
It also keeps a good flow of content on the website, keeping me engaged on a daily basis.
What does everyone else think?
I agree Jeremy. I will, for instance, be looking forward to reading the WRC runners reports on the Manchester Marathon this Sunday, as soon as they are ready to write it, I would love to read it. I appreciate this race will be month end so may well make into this months Newsletter, however, if it wasn’t then almost a month would of gone by before we get to read all the stories of the day.
Just my thoughts.
As you know , I like a good post prandial comment of an evening as much as the next man !
I enjoy the immediacy and freshness of the daily reportage seen here.
A story a day from Dodo would make the world a happier place !
Keep it up !
Just my thoughts .
What nonesense!! What’s the point of having an online, interactive facility if we can’t use it. Publish to both to maximise audience figures but don’t stop this forum.
Count me in. Next best thing to running it is reading about and I am an impatient sole. It should hopefully have inspired the Manchester marathoners as well. Good luck to all and I want to hear about it by Sunday night please.
I enjoy reading daily about ALL race reports big or small – I have to admit I probably check the website a few times a day to see if anything new has been posted – I really enjoy reading about all experiences – if you have had a good race you should shout about it straight away or alternatively if you feel you have had a bad one, talking about it to others alike helps – it certainly does for me….. its my kind of therapy!!!! Looking forward to hearing the tales of Manchester Marathon – Good luck all 🙂
I can understand Charlotte’s concerns that if everything is posted on the web there would be nothing left to put in the newsletter. The website has the advantage of being more current, but always remember it is a public forum whereas the newsletter is just distributed amongst the club and there are times when this can give it an advantage. I don’t think there will be too much of a problem this month as Goyt Valley and Manchester Marathon will probably result in some articles for the newsletter. Hopefully there is room for both the newsletter and website to co-exist. I feel it would be a shame to lose the monthly newsletter.
The newsletter obviously relies on a lot of work by Charlotte, for which I am sure we are all very grateful, and does have some different and interesting articles to the website so in my view should continue with Charlotte’s support.
My observation would be that the comments section, or more of a forum style part of the website, would be useful for reports on recent races and for upcoming events and lifts etc. It would leave the main body of the website free for the results and summer series news, with the content regulated by Don and Ian.

I would agree with all of the above – I may be slightly biased having run London but I wanted to read reports on the race straight after it happened!
