Sometimes it's how you run that counts, sometimes where. If you needed points, Gin Pit was the place to be, a late substitute, 23 runners luxuriated in a golden opportunity to boost their total for the Series. Jon Bale and Peter Watson completed their seven qualifying races, bringing the total to 59.
Main Table
With neither he nor Rob running, the race further secured Malcolm's grip on the 2012 title. Although those running improved their points totals, no-one in the top nine was able to convert points into a position improvement. Graham Taylor, however, edged Rob Wilson out of the top ten. The next mover was Jon , in at 21st.
He is now level on points with Louisa who eased passed Richards, Hirons and Lawson, Aron Geoff and Gareth. Nick did even better overtaking Kate, Steve, Diane Bygrave, Gavin, Janine, Chris, Nicky, Andrew and Christine. Kate is now ahead of Steve and Diane and Chris in front of Nicky and Andy. Patrick has moved-up at the expense of John and Sharon. Julie has edge in front of Sally. Simon has pushed-down Alan and Huma moved ahead of, Cheshire Handicap Champion, Nina. Peter comes in at 55th.
Ladies
Louisa improved her chances of finishing second to Diane McVey but Sharon Johnstone, needing one more race, remains a threat.
Division 2
Graham's 60 points puts him only one behind Allan. Craig has overtaken Paul Garnett. Jon is in at 12th. Paul Norris has moved ahead of Gavin.
Division 3 – this is definitely going to the hill (and mist?) at Langley
Matt's victory puts him level at the top with Louisa, two races to go, only 7 seconds separated them at Gin Pit. Diane and Gareth are also tied in 3rd. place, Janine a point behind. No other changes in the top 12 but Patrick has gone ahead of Alan.
Division 4
With Sharon stepping-aside, Simon, Julie and Huma had what will probably be the crucial battle for second place. It went to Simon. Julie and Huma are only one and two points, respectively, behind him but those points will be difficult to find. The only other change was Peter coming-in at 8th.
