Race three and after ice came the rain leaving the course heavy throughout with an abundance of standing water. A couple of changes to the course in the morning due to one large iced water covering …challenging conditions. Following the exellent results at Sherdley Park, if we were to push on and strengthen our position, we had to produce another great set of results!
And the results …

Another fine set of results and with two races remaining at BHC ( Sunday 10th January) and Woodbank ( Sunday 13th February). The latter includes the Hot Pot presentation at the Brittania Hotel. Its down to the wire and the last two races. No margin for slip ups ! Its a quality league with 590 seniors competing in the ladies and mens races . Full results at http://www.race-results.co.uk/results/2012/maccl123.pdf
One lady from Salford Harriers suffered a broken wrist : please be aware that first aid and medics are on hand at each race. Paid for and provided by the league.
While the ground was wet, there was no hint of rain and we did not take the gazebo: Clearly when the weather is inclement, it will be with us. If anyone feels that it should be a permanent fixture at the races, we can draw together a rota for taking to the race and then back to the club.
With thanks to supporters, cake makers, Rod Coombs for photos (and Andy for posting to the site) and finally Paul Sanders for marshalling : There is an expectation that each club provides a marshal. The league survives from the efforts of willing volunteers!
Well done on an excellent turn out and results that leave it close at the top with just two races remaining.
Nick.
Sorry the photos are a bit overexposed early on because of the difficult angle of the sun. Also these images are reduced resolution for web-posting. If anyone wants a high-res version of one of the pics let me know and I can send it to you.
