This Saturday 22nd December we're holding our traditional festive run at Bramhall. Let's face it that 5k PB has eluded you for another year so just put on your best Christmas outfit and enjoy a easy run around the park. Or take up the challenge … Jim Pendrill remains our only sub-17 Santa.
A new parkrun started last week at Congleton. Run on a flat trail around Astbury Mere it looks like a fast and pleasant spot for a speedy 5k.
Marple parkrun at Brabyns Park is more of a challenge in the winter with a scenic course over fields and along the river bank. In wet weather it's recommended for cross country training but you can warm up very pleasantly in Libby's cafe afterwards.
All parkruns start at 9.00am on Saturday morning, every week. It's completely free but you do need to register online and print off and bring your barcode to identify you in the results.
If you're away visiting over Christmas then you might be able to make yourself extra popular by taking in a local parkrun – some even run special events on Christmas and New Years Day (see link below).
