Lyme Park running

Louise Robbins, who came to give us a talk recently, is making progress with developing the running programme in Lyme Park:-

"As part of the National Trust’s sports project, I am delighted to
announce the launch of the Lyme Park running programme. It starts on Wednesday
28th August at 6:30pm with Lyme Park's very first Run England jogging
group!  There are also 2 other Run England jogging groups being launched
in September. All groups will be led by qualified run leaders who will
share their passion for running and for Lyme Park and help beginners and
improvers to reach their goals. I attach a poster promoting the groups.

 JOGGING GROUPS

Joining one of the Lyme Park jogging groups will help
motivate those wishing to start running by offering free, friendly structured
sessions aimed at beginners, all set in stunning
surroundings.  From the 28th August through to the 30th October,
the Wednesday evening jogging group starts at 6:30pm and offers a friendly,
sociable environment for people wishing to improve their running fitness. Lyme
Park will also be offering a group on Thursday mornings at 9:30am, starting on
the 5th September on an ongoing basis. This group is ideal for busy parents who
have no time to themselves when the family are about, but could squeeze in a
run during the day when the children are at school.  Perhaps an early
run on Sunday morning at 9am would suit you better?  From 22nd
September onwards, a Sunday group will also be available to
provide some structure and focus for your Couch to 5k campaign!

Whether you've run before or fancy something new, come along
and give it a go! All groups meet at The Timber Yard Coffee Shop.

 3-2-1 PERMANENTLY MARKED ROUTES

September also sees the launch of the permanently marked running
routes.  The 3-2-1 routes will take Lyme Park’s visitors to different
parts of the estate by following a 1.4 mile, 2.1 mile or 3 mile loop. Highlights
include a visit to Darcy’s Pool, a spectacular view over the Cheshire plains
and the Welsh Hills (on a clear day) and through woodland to the Lantern and
Cage Follies. Routes will be mapped and available for visitors to pick up. "
