The Northern ladies 4 stage and mens 6 stage Road relays took place in Blackpool on Saturday.
Relays are quite different to road running and much more of a team affair as runners cheer on their colleagues on the other legs… Pace judgement and choice of running order all part of the dynamics of the day.
The North of England Relays brings together the "best of" from Derby up to the North East and everything in between ! It also acts as a qualifier for the National Road Relays : Only the top 25 clubs qualify for the National Road Relays to be held at Sutton Park on Saturday 12th October.
Everyone did their bit but pride of place to the ladies finishing an excellent 11th !

To put things in context , Damian ran the 66th fastest leg of the 570 runners in the mens legs, while Di had to contend with UK International track runner Jenny Meadows , and Vicky with International Marathon runner Susan Partridge . You need to be there to appreciate things.
Both races were won by Leeds City.
