We headed over to Swinton for a pre Congy warm up to loosen off the legs and for Al to check that his are still capable of running 10 miles. Evidently they are perfectly fine. The weather was great and we presumed we were in for a nice flat trot around the lanes of Swinton however we found ourselves faced with tiring uphill gradients and steady traffic on very busy main roads. The sting in the tail was a steep uphill finish which required a good minute of effort but it was worth it just to finish. Job done with Sharon running a PB, impressive given the demands of the course, and Al running a pleasing time despite the ever present "knee injury". And I got a very nice trophy!!
