Tatton Yule Yomp, 8th December
This 10k is goes round Tatton Park mainly off road – a bit cross country lite.It is very much a charity event with a low turn out of club runners and a high turn out of ipods. The key to any chance of success is to start near the front as the first 1k is on a narrow track and there are some large inexperienced units to overtake if you get in the pack. Vicky and Tony are old hands at this race and got away successfully. The temperature was ideal and the going easier than previous years. Vicky improved from last years 2nd to take first lady, Tony won the V60 for the fifth year running and I managed the V70. For Judith it was her first race in months after injury and it was good to see her back. The prize was a massive cup for Vicky and pretty large ones for Tony and I. Heck,I might even go back next year and try and get another!
