We are entering the stage of the season when the league tables start to become interesting. One of the charms of the Series is that it rewards different things. The Spring rewards the enthusiastic whilst by Autumn the stars have exerted their dominance. But that is not inevitable, every year there are always one or two races when a freak low turnout produces a points bonanza and running lots of races gives you the best chance of being in the right race at the right time.
Radcliffe was Race, 6 but with the innovation of the two parkruns, it is now possible to have run 8. No-one has, but Chris with 7, is the first name on the 2015 mug and leads the Main Table.
Sharon heads those who have run 6 races, she also leads the Ladies league and League 2 from Matt, who is, overall, in third place.
In fourth is Tony who is second to Chris in League 3 and in front of John, who is fifth in the Main Table.
Sixth and seventh are Ian and Gail, the early leaders, in the opposite order, in League 4.
Eighth is Don, setting the pace in League 5.
As these eight do not have a race win between them, the top eight, when we are climbing the hill at Langley, with the promise of tea and cake ahead, is likely to look very different.
Moving on to those who have five races to their name, some serious contenders are coming into view. Andrew heads League 1 from Mike and Tom. After that we have Christian, third lady (Gail is second) Janine, Paul, Nicky, Simon, Trevor and Belinda.
