Fancy Fish Supper for the weekend. Well Julie did.
She and her Mer-People turned out on a hot day.
A demanding 9.5k fell run in the picturesque Dane Valley
The Wincle Trout is usually part of the annual Wincle Fete (usually held 2nd Saturday in June).
It is a 5-6.5 mile hill run around the Dane Valley and Gradbach including infamous ‘river crossings’ – the route varies each year depending upon which local farm is hosting the fete.
Runners receive a trout for their endeavours (as well as a lot of tea and cake)!
The 2023 event was held on Mellor Knoll Farm on 10th June and the 2024 event is on 8th June from Toll’s Farm (near the brewery)
Back to the event. It was hot and there was the opportunity to cool off at towards the end.
Julie’s race came to an early end. She stopped, forming the new Branch of our Club – The Wilmslow Ladies Rescue Team. Stopping to help Debbie , a Helsby runner, who had gone over and twisted her ankle. Walking, talking and running all the way to the finish for the second half of the race.
