Well, it’s been quiet on the web!! Possibly because I was away 😊!!
So, what did I miss?
Let’s start with the parkrun from a week ago. 11 events attended by xx runners. Perhaps no so many next week [16th] with XC starting.
Here’s a lightning look at the results.
Just three members at Bramhall. Janine was first lady home. AndrewG had a nostalgic visit to Stockport. I imagine he saw quite a change there since he ran it in 2014. Similar too at London where Rebecca rubbed shoulders with the masses – but couldn’t her last visit in 2017 where she pB’d.
Good running at Wythenshawe – were these members checking out the park for the 16th? Who knows? But Andrew First man home and Huma second lady home managed to beat last week’s PB by 10 seconds! Another out for XC practice was Di who first timed at Marple and ran her fastest parkrun this year.
Speaking of PB’s. Col went back north knowing that the Magpies would be safe now. He PB’d by 20 seconds. That’s a PB each time he’s ran there!
At Didsbury, home of the recuperating Kate, the Johnstone’s ran. Sharon second lady home and almost hitting an AG of 80%. Sue ran her second parkrun this year.
A busy Wilmslow saw our members finish 1 and 2. Jim with an AG of 80.58% a dozen seconds ahead of Andrew. With two more in the top 10 -and Allan 11th. Tracy must have thought she’d left the gas on – as she shot round way ahead of Nic and finished with an AG of 80.07% and a her fastest time since 2019. Roy shrugged off last week with his fastest Wilmslow time since 2019.
I’ve saved Alexandra for last. There were 2 first timers there. We are so used to our Peter the Great smashing more 5k Pbs this year than plates at a Greek wedding. Well Peter the Wise added another category record running here. I should say smashed it as he knocked 12 minutes off the previous time -and an AG of 83.43%. Pacer Chris ran too – right past the breakfast café – and home for his breakkie!
