A good day for Poynton yesterday.
Update on Latest score as of 9:00 am Poynton have increased – almost doubled their lead – but we still have time to challenge them.
78runners: Wilmslow 24; Poynton 54
WRC 1163 : POYNTON 2077 a lead of 851 for Poynton.
They have 3 times the runners registered and have and the fastest runner so far at 18:37; but we now have only 5 in the top 12. We need some good times. Group1 are out tomorrow. Hope they get good weather.
Apologies if anyone was offended by yesterdays article. I wasn’t implying we had slow runners. I do get asked about the scoring and whether a time would actually count against us.
In actuality our last match virtually everyone’s time had a positive effect on our score. The slowness I was addressing was related to people hobbling round or walking to make up our numbers that would end up with really slow times. Like me for instance hobbling round for 40+ minutes. Last match that would have benefited Bramhall by nearly 70 points! So all runners do get your times posted! There are a couple of other scenarios, conundrums I have been asked about scoring but I’ll save them for Monday so I don’t confuse anyone.
To beat Poynton we need a superhuman performance
Poynton have slightly more registered runners than Bramhall; and teams tend to add a few more Saturday/Sunday. And we know how close that result was.
So with only about 70 runners we need repeat performances from everyone and anyone else who is fit to run.
Take care, good luck.
