A big turnout last night. Thirty-two members ran.
The rain held off. The trail wasn’t really muddy. There were two or three places you had to be a little careful.
James speedy was first man home and 9th male to finish. Nic was our first lady home and 3rd overall.

Increasing my mileage up from 5k parkruns. This 5 miler was to build on the RTR run the other week. Part of me thought this would give me the opportunity to beat the Runways time. Worst case 48 minutes – I hoped.
Needless to say after 1k it was tougher than I thought. needing concentration all the way round. 4k done I pushed forward. At 5k I hadn’t seen the start which I assumed we’d pass for lap 2. At 6k I convinced myself it was a 10k race and slowed down. People overtook me. nearing 8k I could see where the Glasshouse was. At 8k pushed on again and a short while later turned and saw what was the finishing stretch. Unfortunately couldn’t catch anyone who had passed me earlier. 8.48k said the watch! Mind you the last half a kilometre pace impressed me!! Next time do some course recce before starting.
