Even after Thursday night’s Buxworth hilly race and the up-and-coming bypass 10k on Sunday we still had xx club runners out on Saturday. They ran at yy events.
It’s another very busy weekend. So, again here are just the basic results. Feel free to add a comment about any PB, AG or other success.
News headlines: Matt pays to top price to run in Yorkshire; Graham’s visit to the City of Spires spurs Sam onto PB.
Chloe first-timed at St Helens. Matt fails to run a sub-human time and he is awarded The Yellow Ticket!! On the plus side, he got a PB!
Up in the lakes Mike sought out fresh air. Nick. OJ took to the grass – Sharon was first lady and top on AG. JD was back at the Ally with his best time since February. Ex-Member Rachael first timed for the first parkrun for 6 months at Marple, and another first-timer – Nick – was in the Cheshire forests.
Mr and Mrs S went to the City of Spires and encouraged young Sam to a PB.
The Series-ly runners were out in force.
At the Grand Prix circuit – no records for Nick and Don – still, top AG for Nicky.
There were a number of Freshers out. It was quiet at Didsbury where Rob paced Frankie around. No PB though. More at South Manchester. Big Al was the first club member to finish. His running is getting back to strength now. RichardH was not far behind – and with a PB too. While Sue ran her best time there for 7 years! Jan tested her aches and pains – had her fastest parkrun since 2020. Roy didn’t manage a sub-30; but he was a minute faster than when he last ran here.
A few Squires ran. Kathryn got sub-30 and PB’d for the third time on the trot!! Steve flew the flag.At Bramhall Barry second to finish – but top on AG. Mark 9th and PB too! PB for Gareth and Victoria on her 199th parkrun ran her second fastest parkrun this year.
As for the WAGs. Peter, running his first parkrun of 2023, was first home in Wilmslow. Top on AG too. Andrew 5th with his fastest Wilmslow time for 2 years. Rebecca tail-running. Just down the road at Alderley, Colin returned to the trails after his Tuesday training session, to first time through the woods. Jim was Second to finish – not too far off his PB.

Not sure what happened. But by Friday night my back was knackered and I could’nt sleep. Every twist hurt. Still does! Oh Well. Another rest
