WRF Half Marathon and 10k results – 26th March 2023

Festival weekend is over for another year. A bit cooler than we’d like – but no rain! A big thank you to all of you:

Huge thanks to everyone for your support and help…massively appreciated. Every single person making a difference. We have been really encouraged by the numbers of runners this year…we had people still desperate to enter. It excites us already ahead of next year.

We can together build on this, and help to create special memories for so many people!

A big thank you to all WRC Club members who supported today’s fabulous Wilmslow Running Festival, and a big congratulations to all of those members who ran so well.

Our club has a close association with this event: Wilmslow Running Club was a founder member of the iconic Wilmslow Half Marathon in the 1980s and we are still represented – by Roy – on the Wilmslow Running Festival committee today.

Our commitment to support race day with marshalls, pacers, bag drops and in many other ways is an important part of this legacy.  I felt today that we did our Club proud with our support.

But the biggest congratulations, of course, must go to Cat, Nick, Roy and all of the team for organising such a wonderful event. There was a great buzz on King’s Road today.

Richard

  1. Another great Wilmslow Running Festival with notable performances in both the men’s and women’s half marathon.
I would like to thank all the Wilmslow Running Club members that stepped forward to help me on the Saturday & Sunday. You all arrived on time and did a sterling job for me. After many years I will be doing a similar role again next year, but I am looking for someone to replace me. We need new, younger blood. If anyone is interested please contact me. It would be good to have you ‘shadow’ me next year ready to take over for 2025.
