Another hot Saturday morning and 25 club members were out topping up their running tans at 11 Parkrun [PR] events.!
Rob was back at Bramhall – top AG. Nick and Don were back after many years absence. Nicky top in ger AC and second on AG after a 4-year absence was just over half a minute off her 2018 time. For Don the 13 years since his last visit the gulf was much bigger.
The Breakfast Boys went to Hyde to Seek sustenance. For Richard a PB with his second fastest PR this year? For Chris a nice Sani?
Elsewhere Rebecca PB’d by 3 minutes as she again ran sub-19. At a popular Alderley there was no improvements for The J’s and Mike. Richard first timed by the sea.
A busy Stretford saw Graham first time with his fastest PR this year; and Alan and Nic both had a PB; Sue was back running again. At Burnage, Kate returned after 8 years and PB’dby 13 seconds! Second on AG too. Paul knocked 1 second off his 2022 time. Gareth was returning after 4 years.
A quiet Cheadle saw the Gentlemen take to the grass. No time improvements for the WRC series. It gave Roy a chance to ease his legs back into motion after Eccles. Speaking of Gentlemen. Our Statesman Peter was back running at Congers – he just missed out on a sub 30.
The H’s moved onto to Munich – awaiting a call up from GB&NI? Richard getting faster by the week; Sue with her fastest for ages. Charlie in between.
Charlie taking up the Javelin? Watch your toes! 🙂
Over to Wilmslow where there were two fast youngsters making a sandwich of Sam who was all sizzled out after Thursday. Their dads were in top places too!
Young James KNOCK’d Sam off his usual podium place. In fact he smashed the course record!
Markus was back after 2 years to post a time quicker than in 2020. And rehab man struggled. Tactics? Avoiding plodding on some downhills? Temperature? Doing gym work 2 days on the trot beforehand and aching? Oh well Volunteer and Coach for the day Andy thought the style was better this week than last! Wasn’t expecting there to be no walkers! But tail-walker was struggling to talk when I hit a slight downhill. Was happier when i used the downhill from the running club to pass two slower [!] people!
Apologies if I have missed anyone.

Another great report Patrick. Good to see you ran again. I know how hard it is for you having been at such a high standard, but keep at it and I know you will steadily improve. Ian and I felt tired at Cheadle Hulme after Wednesday evening’s efforts. Tony Hulme was there and ran a new MV75 course record.
I needed to show them that there’s life in the old dog yet. Thanks Patrick.
