Another sunny Saturday morning. Manchester HM and 10k weekend too. But we still had 26 club runners out running at 10 parkrun events.
The Whittinghams jetted in to run in the heat [90’s].
You too could get a 6 pack in Washington – the local Walmart’s sell several. Bud Light anyone? !!
Soloists: Sam was back at the University parkrun and was just 10 seconds off his PB. Grahan [and his missus] was back at Stretford after a 2 year absence. Julian back at Harrogate. Oliver took the High Road to Scotland and had his quickest parkrun time this year.
Doublets included: Barry and JP at Bramhall. Barry first home and with top AG; John, finding theses hills kinder than last weekend, bettered his last time there in 2019. Graham first timed at Marple; local girl Angie had her fastest time there this year – also second on AG too.
There were triplets at Lyme Park. Ian revisiting the course after 2 years, Richard a little slower on his 201st parkrun than his last visit; and Paul, creeping up to his 400th parkrun, with his quickest time there since 2019.
Onto the popular events. Alexandra park – a seemingly fast course – welcomed 6 WRC Club Members. Tracy was first club finisher and Top on AG. Nic, approaching his 100th parkrun, PB’d by nearly a minute. Richard missing his Breakfast chum first timed and had his quickest time since 2019! Alan was also there as were the Gentlemen’s club who all couldn’t improve on their previous times. Tracy and Ian top in their ACs.
That just leaves Wilmslow. James was our first WRC Member home [in second place] behind young Sam Jackson who PB’d by 3 minutes after a 3 year absence. Di was fourth and first lady home with her quickest time since 2020 and top AG too. Robin with a quick time was 6th. Colin PB’d beating his 2019 time with his fastest run for years. Jarrod was back. Mike and Nick pacing each other as was Rebecca. RichardH resting volunteered.

Thanks Patrick for another comprehensive report. After Land’s End last week it was good to return to a local ParkRun. After some 6 hours of driving the previous day I didn’t expect great things. Chris Cannon started with us, but must have dropped out (possibly because Ian was ahead of him!) I overtook Sue Strang near the end, she then overtook me and paced me in. She decided not to record a time. Good PB by Nic Bown and as usual Richard Hirons just cruised round. I wonder what time he could run if he attacked the course?
