A windy morning still saw 25 Club runners run at 10 parkrun events. I think some people were taking it easy or resting for the Stockport Trail HM. Or got Windy!
Only one runner at Bramhall! Just Mr Reliable. Quiet at Marple too where Andrew also ran alone. GD first timed in the Lakes finishing 3rd in his category. Another first timing was Graham at Macc; and was fastest in his age category with his quickest time since October. Colin returned to Lyme park but couldn’t improve on last weeks time. He needs to practice in a wind tunnel or get some lycra thermals if he wants to improve on his times there.
We had three running at Cheadle, helping to get their numbers up. The Johnstones and IanS. Sharon was second lady home.
The Gentlemans’ Club chose Stockport for their weekly outing. Roy was third in his category (TH first); Ian by default first! Gloves and tops needed to combat the icy wind there.
The Breakfast Club were reunited again this week at Burnage, where no doubt you can get breakfast in the warmth afterwards! Richard- now running well -had his quickest time there since 2017! Carolyn, just missing out on sub 30, had her quickest run there since 2018. Both Carolyn and Chris were second in their age category.
The ever growing popularity for Alexandra Park continues with 5 runners competing. Tim as usual first club runner to finish. Qes was first timing. Richard, Alan and Huma also running. It was a family outing with Huma taking it easy and pacing Imaan around – but she just missed out on getting a PB. Tim with an AG of 84.31% was first in his Age Category – but only 4th in all on AG! RichardL had his fastest run for ages.
At Wilmslow we had 6 runners. Newcomer [?] Ashley was first home. Richard hard pressed by youngster Lucy ran his quickest parkrun since the beginning of October! Mike’s fastest since November. James was back running. Rebecca struggling with tight legs still sub 23 just behind. Susan 5th Lady. Tracy, Nic and Don helping out.
Matt turned out for his 100th Parkrun and ran his fastest since returning from his long term injury.
Summary:
- Busiest event: Alexandra Park [281]; Quietest Cheadle [42].
- Tourist: Graham [Newby Bridge]
- 80+% AG: Tim (84.31%]

Thanks Patrick for another great report on ParkRuns. It seems that Ian and I can’t avoid Tony Hulme at the moment, having seen him at Wythenshawe he turned up at Woodbank Park on Saturday morning. He said he was doing an orienteering event at the Park later that morning. He is still running well.
