The weather might not have been great recently. But on Saturday 21 members ran at 10 parkrun events.
Travel man Simon Calder’s rival PaulN was back in the UK and back at his home course. He found PaulG in fine form. With Rob away in the North Manchester Hills, daughter Juliet was first lady home
Busiest: Stretford [337]; Quietest: Cheadle [22]!
Poor old Cheadle. Wouldn’t it be nice if you all to do some XC training and run this event a couple of times? The next MACCL event is at Sherdley Park 13th November. Graham chose it and came second. He was top AG at the event. The next parkrun will be his 200th.
Lydia chose the Heath to run; Angie went for mud and stayed local. Richard was at Didsbury back to his quicker pace after recent marathons. Colin back in the North East PB’d for the 4th time on the trot. By 23 seconds. It’s the shame The Magpies can’t replicate his form.
Andrew was in great form at Stretford. Top AG there with 83.24% and his fastest parkrun for years. Well since 2018. Another fast run there was by Chris with his fastest time since Covid Lockdown!
Salford drew the Johnstone’s for the first time. Sharon with an AG of 80.49% was first lady home. She was top AG too and set a new category record. Also, first Timer Richard had his fastest run for 2 months.
Alexandra Park had four runners with club connections. Huma first member home, followed by Al. Then ex-Member Soraya first timed. Herr third ever parkrun. The last one in 2015. And her quickest ever too! Not to be outrundone, Roy without Ian – who chose rain and gales instead – to pace him PB’d by 18 seconds over his Feb 2020 time.
That just leaves Wilmslow where dinosaurs prowled the park. There we saw Margaret [VW70-74] [Macc] back after 18 months and with the top AG – 83.67%.
Four of our members finished in the first 7. Ivan third on his 3rd ever parkrun. Mike 5th – closing on his 200th parkrun and Graham. Rebecca was first lady home. IanS, back home for Halloween, had his fastest run here this year. Nic represented the Bown family. Ex-member Leigh had her second fastest parkrun this year. And another ex was Jill who PB’d – Must have been all that training for the London Marathon that she did.
