Well, it was the weekend of the RNW Bypass 10k. But still 24 of our members ran at 8 events.
Wilmslow and Bramhall were busy in terms of the number of our runners. Even if they were a little stretched out. Or was the RD too loud?
Taking a look at our runners and results. In no particular order.
Roy, relieved of pacing duty, reacquainted himself with the Alexandra course; whilst Ian, the ever hungry for more records and firsts, rested himself prior to the Big 10k. IanS ran at Tewksbury. Didn’t quite cut the Mustard, but nevertheless put in a fine run. Cat chose the fresh air and hills to run her fastest time at Lyme this year. RichardL, where’s my golf clubs, and Mike chose coastal locations. Richard got a little wet.
very impressive AG of 82.99% was achieved by Mike. It was also his fastest since before 2020.
The Breakfast Boys tried out the new course at South Manchester. It prevents the log jam that used to happen the first sharp bend after the lake start and misses the big puddle you often had to run through so early in the run. You can join them if you are looking for a good breakfast. This week Carolyn joined in the run and post-race breakfast at the close by Haus [5% off to runners]. It was a first time run for RichardH, whilst Chris ran his fastest since prCovid, as did the impressive Carolyn whose time was less than 2 minutes slower than in 2015!!
This week they had a good turnout at Bramhall. Barry was second with an impressive AG of 81.25%. Rob, half a minute behind, was 4th with an AG of 85.04%. A minute ahead of daughter Juliet who had her first parkrun outing since 2020. The travelling Johnstone’s ran.So to did GrahamS PaulG took opportunity of PaulN saving for the Bypass race.
Lastly at Wilmslow there were a few more of our members running. Sam and Jim were second and third. And it was nice see Allan run his first parkrun for two and a half years. A respectable time too. The Bypass marshalls Andy and Colin got a run in. Andy chose to pace some runners.
Lydia-can-you-hear-me [AndrewW’s Sunday refrain!] ran too. It was Colin’s fastest for a while. Rebecca was our first lady finisher – second overall – with her quickest run for ages as was Kathryn’s. Rebecca chose the Jim approach. Set off late. Get there just in time and let’s go – who needs a warm up.
Apologies if I have missed anyone or any of your achievements
Busiest event, attended by us, was at Torbay [334]; Quietest Troon [96] which also made them our ..
