Tuesday is Club Night

From Nick:

Hello everyone,

This has most certainly been a challenging time for everyone these last six months…Well done to all of you for keeping yourselves fit, and our Run Leaders for putting on the sessions.

The plan this week is for everyone to meet at the Club for 6.45pm…stay socially distant upon arrival…I have already briefed the club steward…We will either use the hall (tables of six), or outside if weather allows…A cone for each group of six.

I can then brief you on winter plans. This may be a constantly evolving situation for obvious reasons, but we need to get back to some normality and that feeling of “togetherness”.

The bar is back open…Julie, we can now do food after training again.

The trail is having minor repairs and the WRF has donated £1k to steam cleanse our changing rooms…I don’t envisage us using these as yet.

Don’t forget your hiViz !!

Road and track racing is slowly returning but with additional Covid requirements.

In terms of Cross Country, I sit on the EA advisory Group, to try to plan the return…Bear in mind that not one league in England has yet been able to book a park!

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

A reminder of the EA rules…

  1. Groups of six or five with coach…Socially distanced etc.
    1. Where multi groups, its vital that they are totally separate…For example, on a track it’s a group on each of the four corners…This is crucial to stop us potentially falling foul of the law…reported etc?
  2. The Club is considered Covid Secure…We have a Risk Assessment prepared…We can then go to groups of twelve…or eleven with coach…Socially distanced etc…And per 1a.
  3. We need to log everyone that attends…This will be done by you confirming if you are attending through your Group Leaders via WhatsApp…Our “track & trace” system!

What is allowed…

The Club…Groups of 12 on the trail…Separate starts as done by G2 last week…At a push three groups.

  1. The 650 Circuit can take two groups of six…starting and finishing at opposite ends of the circuit
  2. The By pass can take two groups of six, starting at opposite ends…Or at the same end but say fifty metres apart both at start and finish
  3. Alderley Edge…Two Groups of six and distanced at the start and finish
  4. Any other suggested “new” winter circuits?? Ideas?

In articulating all of the above, I have again spoken with EA Head of endurance coaching who is taking the lead on the situation.

Thanks all…See you Tuesday!
