Well what a wet week that was. Various soggy training sessions around the locality. Finishing off with a Friday ‘lightning’ 5k [speed only] with 2 of our runners going sub 16. Dan edging Richard on the night.
Jarrod in his quest to aid his rehab was cycling, swimming and surfing this week. The Welsh wonder then managed his longest run since injury 10 miles, along the coast! Can’t wait for an update from him about his injury and recovery. Opposite end of the Welsh Coast saw Brian run several coastal runs.
Yes, it’s time for you all to let me know if you are injured or how your recovery has been or is going.
Tracy did a 10 miler yesterday to achieve her 200k in August challenge. I wondered why she was being very adventurous with her walks recently! Hipperty-Hopperty also managed his longest run since a Park Run last October – and boy is he sore today!! Speaking of the 200k Challenge: Tim has just made it too, Rebecca is a little off it but may make it; Richard has completed it twice. Dan too may achieve that distinction. Graham hit his target a while ago. PaulN has decided September is his month of virtual running challenges.
Matt has been taking it easy since he niggled at training the previous week. With the weather as it has been. He has been virtually around the world cycling in Yorkshire and New York. Another injury update coming soon! Rebecca has been working hard on her fitness and core with walks to help her niggles. Could do without the 5am starts though!!
Craig surfaced for 5k yesterday. PaulG has been out and about. Mick and Andrew too. Robin’s putting the miles in. Nicky just [not] likes running in the rain!!
Laura has been walking, cycling and the odd rehab recovery run. Hopefully the injury update next week will have more details! And Peter seems to have taken up cycling. He’s been out for ages most days on his bike! Ian has been out with a variety of running mates including dog to fulfills some of his August challenges.
Jez has been building core and using their back garden estate for reps with Di. Jan has been cycling and doing her own straight and flat reps in rehab. Believe her ankle is geeting better – but we’ll no doubt find out early next week.
Rob has resurfaced again in the Lakes. Whatever he’s lost I do hope he finds it soon. He’s been everywhere these past 2 months! He’s been playing -I-Spy up near Conniston and meeting Old Men before breakfast. No wildlife this week, probably because he was felling down dark crags with Jules! Plus Lyme Cordial one evening. Tim multi-sporting and photography class exercises Riding and running before disappearing to guard the fish at the beach. Speaking of visitors going to Whales. Katy has managed some challenging runs up hills and in gales before finishing off her week with a walk to the rabbit[?] Warren for drinks.
What was it like for this week all you guys at training? Soggy reps around the Carrs, or a long wet run to the Bollin Airport Tunnels to get really t-shirt wet, or ups and downs with rep climbs at the tip.
The Club run was around the edge this week. Hills and trails and roads.
WRC Strava league reflects holidays and bad weather. It’s tight with – at 8:00am today -only today to come: Dan, Nick, Rob and outsider Tracy are leading.
Weather better next week 😊
