Last Sunday brought out lots of long runs for some of our guys. Long runs from RichardC and Damian. Robin, RichardHa, and the two Pauls all over 20k. Craig almost made it too.
There was a Sunday Lunchtime 10k Sunday river Bollin run for Tracy.
GrahamS was spotting a group of WRC guys at Lyme park. Then today got up early this week to join the hillbillies!
Jez, ultra-marathon training blitzed a 35k run. Ran his last one yesterday. Wonder what his Ultra is? GrahamD was train spotting whilst knocking 30k off his mileage chart.
Julie made the hills for 90 minutes of ups and downs. Rebecca was bumping into dodgy characters and setting a 10k PB. Markus had a run with RichardHa. Both ran the SmokeHouse-Newgate 5. Richard ahead by 50 seconds. A group of 5 did it yesterday. See earlier article for that result.
Wildlife photographer and Derbyshire tourist Rob was out on foot – for a change -with daughters looking for Hillbillies and Red deer. Laura, PeteSt and Col were out on the bikes for a long ride. Young amateur photographer of the month Tim has moved on from the herd mentality and got closer to cow and sheep.
Jules has run 10k. Gareth and Elspeth have been out and about.
KatyG chose Sale water park to swim I triangles for ages. It must have been so good she went back in the afternoon and did it again. A budding Tri girl – Or channel swimmer?
WRC Strava league.Last week I said that the usual suspects were in place to get the 1-2-3. “Dan and PeterS are second and third on distance. Dan and RichardC second and third on time. Tim an Damian on Climbs. Looks like Rob, Dan and Peter are on track for the 1-2-3 distance this week too.”
Well it’s amazing what 2 days can do. Peter pipped Dan in distance. Peter also pipped Richard on time and Jez pipped Damian on climbs!
So far this week Rob leads RichardC and PeterS on distance. He also leads Dan and Markus on climbing. There is still today though.
Jarod finally managed to get off his bike and try a run. 7k. Well done. Tracy has been walking and jogging – building herself up for a 5k. AnnaD has beaten her dad Graham – no doubt setting himself up for today’s match – and got her 5k on the Bollington/WRC scoreboard. Leading on…
The Bollington Match: So far 28 entries are on the scoreboard – 10 from Wilmslow – and the score is WRC 165 V 135 BH.

Around the world. In India a week ago a pigeon was arrested on suspicion of spying for Pakistan! It was flying over the disputed Kasmir region when caught by some villagers who mistook the pigeon’s ring number as a coded message for militants in the area and handed it over to the Indian security forces. The number
