Out and About

Friday’s Riddle. Sorry I meant to publish yesterday.

A. There is something in this world that you can take away the whole but leave behind some! What is this wonderful thing?

B. Which Shakespearean character was heard to have killed the highest number of birds!! You heard it here first.

Answer at the end .. now for what’s been occurin’ on our roads and lanes.

I notice the distances are beginning to increase for our runners. Laura chose to keep fit and support the NHS with 150k Bike round to Cheshire Oaks – or was she just window shopping!!

Lots of bike riding. Matt went to Goyt Valley. Paul chose Irwell Reservoir to meet up with his Bramhall parkrunner – he used to be my nemesis!

Tim has been spreading himself around Cheshire this week and meeting up with RichardH and Huma. Doing 400 reps at the trail and treating himself to a curry as a post-training treat. Bernard has taken him hill running in Shutlinsloe. Boy is he going to be fit when racing returns.

Nicky has been golfing to cross train and meet up with friends..

Rob dipped into Lyme park to give his Hill Billies a 10 mile run. Like any budding naturalist whilst wildlife spotting you need to be aware of the ground you are running on so you don’t have a fall and graze your knee! Still he managed Highland cattle, guinea fowl, a greater spotted woodpecker, a heron, coot chicks, red deer, two buzzards and northern marsh orchid on his outings. Canada goslings and hissing goose, A jay, a nuthatch and a flock of noisy starlings .

PeteS got out of reality cycling and actually biked with some people this week. Others ‘mixing’ it include Paul and Di, Nicky with Amanda. Jez was out trying to find a pub that was open!!

Parental runs with children: Paul and Nicky. Social cycling PeteS.

The club Strava members leader board had the usual suspects. Rob leading overall, PeterS Chasing him on distance and time. Dan third on distance; GrahamS third on time. GrahamS Second on climbs with Jez third.

Dan still treading around Leeds. Others out and about GrahamS, Craig, damian, Mick, Rebecca, PaulG and AndrewC.

For those who have forgotten about the club and Training:

Around the world!

Sport ..Should top football teams be worried about having to play on neutral grounds? Well in the first 33 Bundesliga matches, in empty stadiums, there has only been 7 home wins!!!

Only in America… Police in Utah stopped a car that was being driven erratically on a highway. Behind the wheel they found a five-year old boy. He had driven it 3 miles from home after an argument with his mum. She had told him she wouldn’t buy him a Lamborghini. So, he decided to take the car and go to California to buy one himself!!

Strange, but true? A bull in Lanarkshire a couple of weeks ago left3 villages without power. A transformer in a field had been knocked off a pole. Te farmer discovered her bull, Ron, looking very sheepish and a bit stunned! He had an itchy bum. And so must have dislodged it whist scratching his bum!!

The Riddle?

Answers:
