Another weekend. Another milestone occurring as we set ourselves to target the next 3 weeks Isolation. Just a few things I noted.
I have encountered whilst walking various running fashionistas: a cloth moose, a plastic inflatable T-Rex and on Sunday – Batman. The batman guy looked like he’d borrowed his sons costume!
But while I was counting animals of one sort or another our bird man Rob was counting buzzards.
We are tied at 3 all at the moment.
Anyone else seen something unusual, or noticed something that they have run past hundreds of times before?
Warning
Take Care when you are out running. Poor Ian Roberts and his partner Sue ended their Short ride together and ended up being hit head on by a a car coming round a bend on the wrong side of the road – Noah’s Ark Lane I think. Driver just drove off!!! Ian came home in a police car, Sue in an ambulance. Ian has got scrapes but Sue has a broken collarbone she will need an operation. Hope they recover quickly.
Locally:
Laura has doing various reps at the track. Mick using the track to do 8k’s worth of reps. Several Dad’s doing runs with their daughters.
Myself I managed 1k of hobble-jog. Wondering if I can do the Peter Herd Vanilla Slice challenge today. Might test the leg later. Did get another member on my I-Spy a WRC runner this week: KateM and her two bicyclettes!! I’ve got 4-5 so far.
Matt’s doing rehab work after work around the Rugby pitch at Congleton. Rob has used his initiative and though Lyme Park itself is closed but we still have rights of pedestrian access to Open Access land. You can see the OA land on OS maps and it includes most of the moorland. So He sticks to the open moorland and paths to access. Rob seems to run twice as far as Richard and Peter and Graham. |And with over 300 metres of Climb he leads Damian back at 1800 metres.
JonathanD at Alexandra park. ClaireC running 5 miles and donating £5 for the NHS. I believe Laura and Col also did a run for the NHS. Nicky is still alternating running and cycling.
Damian putting in some long runs! He’ll be really fit at the end of this crisis.

So going forward I am going to keep the same the schedule for workouts in the following weeks:
Monday 10:30am Full body (bodyweight)
Tuesday 10:30am Upper body (with weights if you have them)
Tuesday 3pm Core (bodyweight)
Wednesday 10:30am Lower body (with weights)
Thursday 8:30am Fully body HIIT

Equipment: Most of the workouts can be done with body weight however if you have access to weights that would be better for the upper and lower body specific ones. If not then improvise with water (or wine?!) bottles, tins, bags filled with tins, your partner/children?!
A nearby chair/sofa would be handy and resistance bands are also great if you have them.

Just want to recommend Rebecca’s workouts. They’re hard but enjoyable , not too long – the normal length of a Zoom meeting.
The field that Patrick mentioned is behind Hough Lane. Some walkers thought I was crazy when they saw me doing some reps there this morning!
