How’s everyone doing with isolation and/or being a Key Worker or NHS helper or Good Samaritan?

So far, I haven’t had the desire to pull out a jigsaw.

My own game of I-Spy WRC isn’t going well, On my daily walk I have only ticked of Big Pete – several times in shorts and lycra! – and Lynn pacing her children and Markus have a family run. I did see JP but think that was just before Lockdown. My targets of 25 (Platinum), 20 (Gold), 15 (silver) and 10 (Bronze) might need tweaking. What’s working for you?

Any way

Local news:

Places for isolation!

Someone suggested a quiet field: From the roundabout at the High School go 100m or so towards Prestbury and its on the Right. A good 800m circuit and not too busy.

Rob has found out some place of note: Members in jogging distance of Bramhall should note that Bramhall park golf course has been opened up for community exercise. It really is a fantastic running facility. Soft grass fairways. Excellent place to do your reps in isolation. Entry from Carrwood Rd, Manor Rd or Thornway.

Keep fit:

Rebecca this week is going to be doing various workouts via Zoom and would love to have some of you to join!

If possible, she just asks for a small donation to participate, times are tough for us all and her, like many others I’m sure are losing out!

If you are struggling then of course do not feel you have to, just your attendance is a great show of support . Just email her for the link.

Her schedule is as follows:

Monday 10:30 am- Full body workout (body weight) approx. 30-40 mins

Tuesday 9am Upper body weights 40 mins

Tuesday 3pm Core 30mins

Wednesday 10:30am Lower body weights (the workout I sent out)

Thursday 8:30am HIIT style full body (30 mins)

If you would like to join please comment below or message her with your email and she will send out the Zoom and transfer details!

Hill Reps

ChrisC: did down hill reps one morning. Up hill reps can wait until next week.
Seriously he ran through Styal woods this morning plenty of up and downs there.

Whilst Jan: did 6 x 3 mins hills on the road up to the edge.. hard but satisfying!

Rob: did Over 11000ft last week

Whilst DiBy: did hill reps with the family then went off to do a solitary Windermere Drive rep

Laura preferred the track: to get to the track today to do 6x 1k with 500m jog recovery. Very much enjoyed it in a sadistic way. Leaving ColC to do the gardening!

NicolaC  is managing her runs each week still. Reps have been subbed for the past 2 weeks for herchasing her 8 year old on his around a 5 mile route. Was going to run to Whitebarn road tomorrow for some hill reps. Tempo on a Thursday – 7ish miles and Sunday 10 miles. Every other morning doing 30 mins hiit or weights session following a few online.

Nicky is alternating cycling and running to the Edge.

Elsewhere

Other runners have visited bluebells, alpacas and White Nancy. Our club ornithologist has ticked off several birds of his I-spy List: Great Crested Grebes, Goldfinches, Snipe, and Curlews

Some members are doing virtual triathlons! They are so easy I can do marathons in under an hour –  every time I doze of in the sun!

Take care out there.
