Building up your core – pilates?

Running is  not only about the strenght and endurance in your legs. One can better their running approach with some thought to  correcting the alignment of your body, then working on your breathing and your core stability. Sometimes a slight imbalance in the body will go on to create problems because of such a repetitive movement that you’re doing!  Pilates will help with this strength and stability. It will also increase your flexibility.

The core or midsection musculature is the bridge between your upper torso and legs. It is the source of stability during daily activities and during exercise. And running. It protects the internal organs, and stabilizes the spine. A weak core may leave the body vulnerable to lower back pain and injury.

Well there is a class at Alderley Pilates which may interest a few of you!
