Quite a number of our club runners turned out for the last parkrun before Christmas. A number were feeling quite Christmassie others were not.
In all 34! club runners ran at 9 parkrun events. Most parkruns were well attended; one record breaking and another possibly a record breaker the wrong way though!
IanS conditioning himself for the up and coming cross country match, or perhaps the handicap run, took on Cheadle. He achieved his highest finishing position 5th while running over 4 minutes slower than his July PB. There were only 16 runners who turned out!! Speaking of 45th, that’s the achievement of Tim at Congleton where he PB’d beating his March PB by 8 seconds and achieving an AG of 81.01%. He could be a dark horse for the handicap!
Singletons also included: JamesE at Lyme Park who PB’d. He was chased by his son Joe who just missed out on a PB by 3 seconds. Looks like we could have a young star in a few years time. Roy chose to run at Didsbury but was a litte off the PB he ran there last time.
There were a lot of Jacksons at Sutton Coalfield. A very young Jackson came 7th. Not sure if he was realted to Rob and Frankie who took it very easy, finishing together just over 30 minutes.
The travelling Johnstone’s went to Bakewell and ran quickish times. Sharon with a time of 20 minutes dead had an AG of 80.17%. Huma ran with Qes at Stretford. Both had quick runs. Huma’s fastest there since March. Those Tuesday night are paying off.
At Bramhall 726 runners turned out – a record – beating the previous highest attendance of 655. Most of the Usual Suspects were there and were joined by RichardLa. Rob (5th Finisher) ran his usual quick run with his usual high AG of over 80%. His Daughter Ellen was hanging on to his coat-tails to finish just behind as first lady finisher, Barry was quickish too, as was Richard. Janine was in festive mood as a Christmas Box present! Paul was an elf – but I can’t find a s-elfie of him! Mark delivered a consistent time whilst wishing for 9 points over Christmas to New Year! With the large number of runners they also had a group on nuns!
At Wilmslow we had 18 runners stretching their legs. Jim was first of our runners to finish with and AG of 78.46%. We had 5 in the first 10: elfish Peter (5th), JamesS (7), RichardHa (9) and Trevor (10). James with his fastest since July. Richard is very consistent at the moment when he is not pacing and Trevor as usual with an 80+ AG percentage.
Mike had a quick run and Markus back in town for Christmas knocked up his 98th parkrun at Wilmslow and was not too far off his normal time and GrahamD also with a quick time ran his 96th parkrun overall. Andrew chose to chase a snowman around – I think he finished just behind it! Just behind him was Rebecca the fastest elfess and second lady home.
ColinC pipped Laura. Jan was under 25 minutes again with Nicky just over for once but stepping in for Mrs Christmas no doubt had to deliver some pressies and lead elf John on the way round– but still her run had an AG of 77.19%
ColinC joined the League of Gentlemen: led by elf-boy JohnP, AlanT, Colin – guess who I support – and then IanA with his fastest for run here for 6 months – must have been the jummy keeping him nice and warm
Leigh back again ran her 95th at Wilmslow.
