Just browsing and noticed the Tatton Yule Yomp is now open, its on the 8th December – and seem to remember Run North West has the Southport 10k on the 22nd September.
The Tatton run is a popular pre-Christmas event for all runners, including those seeking course PBs and winning positions, club and team entrants, novice and recreational runners. The 10K course is set in the beautiful surroundings of Tatton Park, across park trails with a fast finish on road. The 3K, organised by Knutsford Tri Club Junior, will be run round the playing fields at Egerton Youth Club. More details click here
Southport 10k has a new route: the race will start on Marine Drive and will head in an anti-clockwise direction to previous years. The full route will once again be fully closed to runners on the day, which makes for a much more runner friendly route with beautiful views across Southport Beach to the Fylde. The remainder of the course will be run around Marine Lake and removes any running on the grass and excludes the historically twisty section of the course at the 5k mark.
The two lap course is ran on smooth tarmac through and around the pier. Flat and fast with only gentle undulation, this course promises fast times for club and fun runners alike. Taking in the famous Southport Pier, which is not only Britain’s oldest iron pier but the second longest. The pier itself is a hub of activities, with a retro arcade to enjoy post race as well as taking in spectacular views across the Marine Lake and beach. The route runs around the Marine Lake, taking in the Theatre and Convention Centre, Marine Lake Promenade, Ocean Plaza and Southport Model Railway. This year’s event will proudly support the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation the only UK charity to focus solely on lung cancer care. More details click here
