As autumn settles in summer is behind us, it means only one thing: the cross country season is upon us!
Our captains Andrew Whittingham and Janine Ellis are beating the drum to get strong teams out.
Cross country is great fun, and totally different to the road. The atmosphere is tremendous with spectators and other runners awaiting their own race cheering everyone on. Once the ladies have finished it’s time for the men to race, this time with the ladies adding the support! Cakes are usually on hand post race.
Andrew Whittingham (Run North West) are the new sponsor.
Match One is at Wythenshawe Park. This year the ladies race at 1.30. Ten minutes earlier than previous, with the men still 2.30. Saturday 15th October.
Goyt Valley Striders & Buxton AC have affiliated this year.
We also have a new venue for match four…Kenworthy Woods. Northern Moor and not far from Wythenshawe Park. It’s a really good venue.
The club pays for all entries meaning that YOU just need to turn up. You know it makes sense!
Check with your captains that you are entered (if you ran last year you should be), and be ready to battle it over the country next Saturday.
See you there.
Nick.
