At the end of June we find ourselves in the second half of the summer series. With 20 parkruns behind us we now have 63 runners who have entered the competition. There are another 19 opportunities this series to try and qualify for the competition and earn some handy bonus points! Once you have a parkrun entry on the main table this can be used as either road or trail towards the 7 races needed for your mug or the 12 races (5/7) needed for your T-Shirt.
We have just three runners this month who have qualified for a parkrun entry on the main summer series tables. They have all completed Lyme Parkrun plus another three courses from the following list:
- Bramhall
- Burnage
- Cheadle Hulme
- Congleton
- South Manchester
- Stretford
- Wilmslow
- Wythenshawe.
So congratulations go to Patrick Grannan, Mark Crossland and James Macdonald.
The current list of combined qualifying times for those who will be awarded points on the main table are as follows:
- James Macdonald: 1hr 19m 13s
- Steve Bunker: 1hr 23m 23s
- Alan Turner: 1hr 29m 21s
- Tony Hulme: 1hr 33m 24s
- Geoff Gilbert: 1hr 34m 34s
- Chris Cannon: 1hr 35m 2s
- Mark Crossland: 1hr 36 m 1s
- Patrick Grannan: 1hr 39 m 39s
From the remaining runners we have 28 who have completed just one course and 16 who have completed two courses.
We have 11 runners who have completed 3 courses each and are one away from qualification. Andrew Whittingham, Jarrod, Janine, Gareth, Sharon Johnstone, Huma and Ian Ashcroft all need to head for Lyme Park for their 4th run. Brian, Gail, Don and Tim have already completed Lyme Park so they all need to complete a different course to gain qualification.
Wilmslow remained the most popular course in June, least popular was South Manchester where only Sue Strang flew the Wilmslow flag this month. Cheadle Hulme and Burnage remained quiet too, although Cheadle Hulme may get a visit soon from Tony as this would give him a full set of 9 courses and the maximum 7 bonus points.
Two notable parkrun appearances this month have both been at Stretford, Andy Whittingham still benefiting from his marathon training had an impressive 17.15 run and Stuart had a great return parkrun of 18.11.
We now have five Saturdays in July, so hopefully we should have a surge of qualifiers on the main table by the end of the month!
Elspeth
Well done Elspeth!
