Summer Series after 7 Races

The 2016 Rules are on the website, reminders:-

  • 7 races to qualify.
  • 12 races (at least 5 on and 5 off road) for the running shirt.
  • bonus points for park runs.
  • bonus points for long races.

Matt and Ian become the first 2016 league qualifiers. Something of a contrast; Matt with 7 wins in seven races has dominated League 2, whereas Ian has frequently been the last of the League 4 runners.

Those who have run six races are led by Sharon, followed by Tim with Huma and Alan tying.

Tom is the highest scorer of the 12 five-race runners followed by Jarrod, Andy, Diane, Gareth and Bernard.

Steve in 19th. place heads-up the 12 who have run four, then come Richard, Christian, Tony, Louisa and Chris.

9 have run three races, 11 two races and 10 one.

Ladies:               Sharon, Huma, Diane

League 1:          Sharon, Tom, Jim

League 2:          Matt, Tim, Jarrod

League 3:          Alan, Huma, Gareth

League 4:          Ian, Sally, Colin

League 5:          Janet, Trevor, Elspeth

League X:          Peter, Graham, Roy

Promotion in 2015 and 2014 worked out as 2 up, 2 down. However, injuries and people not completing 7 races made it sensible, at the end of the Series, to review the tables and not be driven blindly by the arithmetic. The same will apply in 2016.

2016 sees the creation of League X for runners new to the club and those who did not complete the 7 qualifying races in 2015.

With the creation of League X, it may be, at the end of this year’s Series, that it makes sense to consolidate the ability leagues down from 5 to 4. You need therefore to carefully watch the Main Table for, were the decision to be to go down to 4 ability leagues, then your position in it is likely to be an important determinant as to your league in 2017.
