parkrun “Summer Series “ Update
Saturday 19th September
On 22 August we had 21 parkrunners at various runs up and down the country, I think that must have been record high, this Saturday we must have had a record low of seven. Not surprising with the other races taking place over the weekend.
At the summer series races Tony couldn’t improve on his time at Congleton nor Steve at Lyme Park. We had no takers at South Manchester so no changes to the table. Huma who normally turns up is desperate to break the 22 minuets this year, she has been very close, I have suggested she tries Congleton, watch this space.
I couldn’t get to Woodbank for the age graded comp like I intended and nobody else did either so Ian is the only candidate for the throne this month, only one week left.
Elsewhere Janine was first lady at Bramhall, for the 19th time, Roy broke the 30 minute barrier (29.52) for the first time at Cheadle Hulme and won his age category, now then, I am not going to check whether or not he was the only runner in the category and neither should you. A victory is a victory well done Roy. Woodbank next week, fairly flat and to save your knees a choice of tarmac or grass.
Reminder, last chance to register a summer series parkrun time is Saturday 7th November, same day as Langley 7 so only 7 more chances.
