Saturday 29th August
Two new names on the 5K Road table, both at Congleton, Jarrod in 19.45 comes onto the table 5 seconds ahead of Doc Mat. Gareth finished in 21.41, comes onto the table I am pleased to say, just behind Chris, ahead of Geoff. Gareth unfortunately due to shift work can only parkrun every six weeks. We had no runners at South Manchester.
Some great runs at Lyme Park. Jim trimmed 20 seconds off his best time finishing in 19.15 and moving him up the table into second place. Sharon finishing in 21.07 improved on her time by 25 seconds moving her up the table ahead of Doc Mat. Janine in 23.11, slashed over 90 seconds off her time moving up the table a massive 7 places in front of Ian.
Huma and Nicky both made there Lyme park debuts, Huma in 24.49, comes onto the table just ahead of Sally G and again pleased to report, behind Chris, Nicky in 25.24, 1 second ahead of Kate on the day who leap frogs Rachel. Martin couldn’t improve on his time finished in 39.08.

Parkrun “Age Graded Comp” – Cheadle Hulme
We managed to get 7 runners to swell the Cheadle Hulme parkrun numbers.
Carolyn who had a steady run has won the Queens crown once before so Sharon decided she would have a try finishing in 24.30 with a percentage of 67.62% and just pips Claire to the throne.
There was little hope for the Kings, I hadn’t reported the fact that Tom Mcgaff had appeared earlier in the month and ran the course in 18.02 finishing in first place with a percentage of 88.91%, apologies to Steve, John and Roy.
The Bunker had a good run on the tough course in 20.08. John Porteous another good run in 23.17, managed to stay ahead of Tony 23.37. I felt at times I was treading water and managed 24.21 faster than my previous time there…just. Roy beat last weeks’ time, finished in 30.11.
Much as I find this parkrun more like the St Helens cross country course than a parkrun it is well organised with toilet facilities and good catering, it’s still worth a visit.
Queen : Sharon Jones 24.30 67.62%
King : Tom Mcgaff
Court Jester : Chris
Undecided on next month’s venue so open to suggestions …
Chris
