Wythenshawe Park track
My races to date this year had all been parkuns so the Sizzler held-out the prospect of a ‘best in 2015’ time, but it was not to be. It was small compensation that Tim also failed to beat his Congleton time and neither Geoff nor Tony recorded year best. I missed Trevor and Paul at the end so I’m unsure about them, Paul’s time looks impressive but he’s in good form generally.
It was a perfect evening for running well. The organisers are perhaps pushing the numbers, Tony, having missed-out on catching Geoff at the end then lost vital seconds baulked at the finish. It also felt crowded at the beginning but, as the first was my fastest km., I shouldn’t overplay that.
Failure is always disappointing but my preparation was good and I pushed myself hard, I could have gone no faster – much better than getting home feeling you under-performed and could have done better.
The final race of the Sizzler series is Thursday August 6th., 7:30 – a substitute if you’ve missed Pie & Peas entry.
