I want to float the idea of stealing the one-hour concept from cycling. Would there be interest in one Thursday evening, instead of the normal run, we see how far we can each run in an hour? I've not spoken to Paul, am not down Tuesday, but if there is interest perhaps others could sound him out. My suggestion is Thursday July 16th. with a 7pm start. My initial thought is that our route would start at the rugby club, go round the trail, then up the far side of the Carrs near the road, cross the bridge, up to the next bridge then right along the tarmac onto Broadwalk, follow Broadwalk, right onto Carrwood, down to the rugby club, round the trail and off again for another lap. As the hour drew to a close we would leave this route and do laps of the trail, so when 8pm came everyone would be lapping the trail. Someone with a loud hailer would tell us when it was 8pm and we would stop our watches and record our own distance (we would have to measure the course for those who do not have GPS).

I think the idea had some mileage.
