We had no takers at Lyme Park, hope my description from last week didn't scare you all away, it isn't as tough as I made out.
Jamie, Simon and Leanne travelled the 12 miles to Congleton, Jamie improved on his time by 10 seconds which moves him up the table, Simon registered his first parkrun in 25.10 closely followed by Leanne in 25.20.
At South Manchester, Diane and Brian registered there first parkrun road times both with South Manc PB's and I think it may be Di's parkrun PB, Di in 18.22, Brian in 18.28, entering the leader board either side of Mike Hill. John Porteous registered his best time of the year in 22.41 moving him above Ian, Huma and Al T putting him 1 second behind Doddy and 2 behind Jamie. Every second counts!
Next months parkrun King and Queen will be decided at Burnage so this week I went along with Steve and Carolyn to check if they are back to the original course but mainly to sample the bacon and tea, I can report positive news. The course is much improved and will prove to be faster and the bacon sandwiches were excellent. The course from the top of the steps down to the river and for the stretch that follows the river has been tarmacked making for a great running surface. Steve finished in 20.30, I managed a Burnage PB in 22.06 and Carolyn in 25.56, her best time of the year.
