Saturday 18th April 2015
This is now the second time I have run the Cheshire 10k, or if you prefer its alternative title, the Arley 10k. Having clocked a PB the day after Langley on the same course in November I was not going to miss this race and finally beat my nemesis, the sub-40 minute 10k. I can now stop banging on about it. Inevitably I will now focus on breaking the 39 minute mark. With only 1 mile to go I was unsure whether I could do it as I needed a 6:20minute mile but the final half a mile is gently downhill and with the clock clearly in view with only 50m to go I knew it was in the bag. Well done Steve Bunker who also got a PB and must have been very close behind me all the way.
The course is flat, fast and on quiet country lanes (like many other races I have entered in the last 12 months). On Saturday the conditions were just about perfect. The race is very well organised and I would definitely recommend it.
