parkrun ” Summer Series ” Update

parkrun Summer Series Update .

Saturday 21/3/15

I quickly scanned the parkrun results not really expecting to see any WRC members names.

I did think of a quick run round Burnage parkrun on the way to Ashton where I had to pick 3 tons of water up, but coupled  with an early KO at the Etihad I had second thoughts. Good job really, missed the first two minuets of the match and didn't know until I was driving home that West Brom had a player sent off after 60 seconds.

Two new names to add to the 5K Road list, Ian Smallwood in 21.05 and Rachael Peers in 24.02 at Congleton, I am sure both will post faster times over the summer. John Porteous improved on his 5K Road time with bang on 23.00 mins at South Manchester, had it dried out John ?

Gareth Trimble with a Saturday morning off work, has gone straight to the top of the 5K Trail with an impressive 23.08 at Lyme Park closely followed by Geoff Gilbert with 24.33.

I expect a record number of names to register next week.

Lyme Park 5K Trail

Gareth Trimble    23.08

Geoff Gilbert       24.33

Congleton 5K Road

Ian Smallwood      21.05

Rachael Peers       24.02

South Manchester 5K Road

John Porteous       23.00

  1. Parkrun summer series update
I did South Manchester last week (21st march), and most of the surface water had gone, although the large puddle (lake) that you hit just before 1k and 5k was still there. Without further rain it should be ok for tomorrow. Also Chorlton running club usually provide pacers for the race on the last Saturday of each month. I think they start at about 19 minutes, (which won’t help our Group One speedsters), and work down from there.
