Dunham Massey 5k #2

The second Dunham Massey 5k is now run in reverse direction which gives the slightly more favourable experience of running down the main drive.  The rain had stopped and the wind eased off a bit resulting a nice conditions and some fast times.  Looking around it was clear that there would be some SS points to be gained on the Roaches tonight.

Diane won the ladies race in a fantastic 17.43 – another big chunk off her PB and the club record.  Simon  and Peter engaged in another clash of the V70 titans.  It's like Coe and Ovett except they race each other every week!  This time it was Simon who finished with the widest grin having been pushed all the way to V70 club record 22.21.  Like Diane, Paul and Louisa are getting PB's every week and they both repeated the trick tonight.  Meanwhile Jonathan is running at 2 PB's per week.

This was a fast race from the off and I just got left behind in the first k.  Pete Speake ran off at a tremendous pace and kept it going for a PB of 15.50 which I hope will be seen as a club MV35 record.  Graham MacNeil was just behind me and Andy Whit recorded his first sub 17.

Warrington's Andrew Green continues to run ridiculously age defying times in this series.  My daughter finished 3rd woman and at this rate will overtake me before the end of the year about the same time as Diane.

well done all, some very impressive results in there for WRC. Special congrats to Si and Di on their wins.

  2. the race police

Even more impressive is Chris Cannon running in two races at the same time ???

  3. mea culpa – I told one of the marshals at the check in area that I was using Chris’s number – but I should have checked the message had got through to the people at the check in table, which it obviously didn’t. Apologies for any confusion caused. Sorry Chris – my 1st race for 18 months and super slow. Stephen Feber
