WRC had no less than 4 runners representing 3 counties. For Diane, Peter and I it was our first county vest and an opportunity to compete against the best runners in the country. It was fast and furious from start to finish over a nice undulating course that mixed deep mud with plenty of more runnable sections. With such a high quality field you could lose or gain 10 places within a few strides. Peter and I ran together in the middle of the race but he surged away to a great finish. Diane was always in the thick of it and moved through well in the last lap. Clare put in a solid run for Leicestershire despite carrying a few injuries. It's not looking like any of us qualified for the World Championships …

Well done Di, Rob, Peter and Clare for putting in a great showing for the club. Saw a bit on TV – muddy enough to challenge the National!
