Woodbank Park MACCL finale Sunday 10th February

The final race in the 2012/2013 MACCL was consistent with all the previous ones season to date…Wet and muddy!

Team and individuals medals were to be decided…we had a very new large flag on display and plenty of support to cheer us on.

Some debutants and our evergreen ever presents and another fine showing from all.

A presentation was held at the Britannia Hotel afterwards where individual and teams collected their trophies. Thanks to all that came to support and good to see our winners collecting  their medals particularly the teams. Trevor has captured on camera. We train together, race together and enjoy success together.

We have been fortunate to have had the support of Don, Rod, Simon B ,Andy W and The Hirons in taking photos over the course of the season.

Paul Sanders has also marshalled at every race.  Great effort…Thanks Paul.

  1. Brilliant team and individual efforts, well done everyone. Sorry I couldn’t be there to support.

  2. Well run everyone in a great finish to the season. It’s been a real team effort and it was particularly nice to see some of the newer Wilmslow members coming through this year.

  3. How did Damian morph into Diane as 2nd Male?
This is actually the Club’s best ever result in the MACCL series. As in 2011, we got three firsts and a third. However, this time the senior men were equal second on 36 points with Salford, but were given third on countback: Salford beat Wilmslow in Matches 1, 2 and 3 and were behind in Matches 4 and 5.
It goes to show that the results in the early matches are vitally important in deciding overall team positions.

  4. Thanks Trevor…Corrected.

  5. This was my first time I had dipped my toe into XC mud since being at Comprehensive, back in the North-East – I dont remember it being this tough! The support from the ladies, non-runners and cake bakers makes the difference – thanks for helping us up the hills and to not stop after 2 laps like I felt like doing.

  6. Well done everyone – clean sweep again, fantastic! Should have been skiing at the time but Air France had other plans for us. Luggage arrived later that day, too late for skiing but early enough for a hill run at 1000m.

  7. Well done everyone! Very much enjoyed the muddy course! Unfortunately I strained my calf in the race and still going through rehab but improving, and building up the running slowly. Hopefully will be back at training soon and back racing.
