Goyt Moss

Does anyone have directions to the start?

And a profile of the course?

Start is at Derbyshire Bridge, just past the Cat & Fiddle. I could not find a profile.

  2. Race Registration at Derbyshire bridge is at the very southern end of the Goyt Valley. So the best approach to the venue for almost everyone is via the Cat & Fiddle A537 (Macc to Buxton)Road. Then turn left immediately after the Cat & Fiddle pub and follow the road downhill until you reach the car park. Alternative route is by driving through the Goyt Valley from North to South.
I don’t have a profile of the course but there are two long climbs. Basically its 1st Mile flat(ish!). 2nd mile uphill, 3rd mile downhill, 4th mile flat, 5th mile uphill, 6th mile downhill.
As long as I can escape from work in time I’ll be there!

  3. A couple of points which may be of interest , theres usually a lot of midges , if there is not enough breeze to keep them away. There are no toilets at the start , unless the disabled one is open (its usually locked ). nearest toilets if you dont want to look for bushes are . Tescos Macc , Cat and Fiddle pub , Puss in boots left entrance Buxton Road , you dont have to actually enter pub.
