Tony and I have decided to drop the race scheduled for 2nd August – Leek CC – from the Summer Series (not tough enough!!) and replace it with a proper (short) Pennine fell race. This will be Shelf Moor on Sunday 2nd Sept, starting at 11am.
This race climbs up to a trig point on the edge of Bleaklow, above Glossop. Fairly straightforward on a dry sunny day, more challenging in wet misty conditions as most of the race is over peat and rough grass. Because of this, please take note of the kit required to be carried (which on a good day will be a minimum requirement of full windproof body cover) as stated on the race website > http://www.glossopdale.org.uk/races/racessm.html
