Dunham Massey 5k
At the top of the long finishing straight had assembled the Wilmslow hall of shame; those who had not entered, those who had entered but then decided not to run, those who had changed, warmed-up but declined to start, those who had started but not finished. There was an enormous cheer as Chris Cannon rounded the bend, Chris barely reacted, perhaps simply taking it all in his stride or perhaps unaware that a mystery illness meant Tony hadn't made the start and Chris was 400m from leading the 2011 Summer Series. A little behind were Carolyn and Gail who join Chris on the 2011 podium.
This is supposed to be a report on the Dunham Massey 5k and its impact on the Summer Series. Unfortunately Don is away so there will be no tables until after Tittesworth, I 'did' my hamstring again in the warm-up so can't give you first-hand on the race and the organisers didn't provide category positions. You may question the merit of reading-on but if the accuracy cannot be guaranteed at least it's short.
Rob was 9th., 1st.M45 and picked-up his first 60 points of 2011. Jim was 13th. and 3rd.M40. Trevor was 15th. and 3rd.M45. Tom was 31st. and 2nd.M55, unusual for Tom not to win his category. Andrew was 34th., Barry 40th., Graham (Macneil) 47th., James (Wheeler) 48th. and Graham (Screawn) 50th. Our newer runners are certainly adding quality to the club.
Louise was 1st.L35, Katy was 3rd.L35, Christine was 3rd.L45.Sally was fourth Wilmslow lady, Jane despite her recent injury was 1st.L55.
James (Eyre) took the 60 points in League 3; three races, 180 points. Louise was second then Aron, Matt and Katy.
Jon headed League 4. He is in distinct danger of being re-classified as League 3 with Jarrod possibly moving in the other direction. Geoff was second followed by Gavin, Peter (Bream), Christine, Sally, Jane, Steve, Janine, Kate, Owen and Alan. 16 seconds encompassed 8 Wilmslow runners from Christine to Alan with much chopping and changing down the finishing straight.
Alan took his third successive 60 points in League 5, rival Chris has three 60s and three 59s, Peter was third then Catriona, Carolyn, Nina and Roy.
In the main table Andrew (Whittingham) in fourth tops those who have run five races ahead of Tony, Paul (Garnett), Gareth, Paul (Norris), Janine, Owen, Angela and Roy.
League 3 reads Tony, Paul (Garnett), Gareth, Paul (Norris), Matt, James.
League 4 has a new leader in Janine, she is followed by Owen, Angela, Geoff, Andrew (Dodd), John and Don.
The top of League 5 mirrors the main table; Chris, Carolyn, Gail. Then come Roy, Alan, Soraya, Peter and Nina.

Many thanks for the enormous cheer , was it actually any louder than the cheer for John in front of me and the omnious cheer ( in my ears ) for Clair seconds behind , but thank you and no I wasn’t aware Tony wasn’t running . What a weekend for Don to be away , no tables published .
