Goyt valley Striders Race News.
The Buxworth 5 is a new 5 mile road race from the Buxworth, High Peak on Wednesday 4th May 2011 at 7.30pm. This race will replace our Shady Oak Tough 10k that will no longer take place. The route has a few climbs, the last mile is fast and flat, so should be suitable for most.

This sounded excellent news until I saw that they say the replacement will be equally tough. Rod and Roy will already be searching for a pressing prior engagement. Ian
At least the last part of that sentence sounded encouraging…..However, we have this new race which is equally as tough and has a very welcoming pub and landlord….. enough to tempt Rod and Roy after all???
I do feel that Rod and I are being unfairly mis-represented – we don’t mind hills, to look at that is, and we certainly enjoy the hospitality offered by a welcoming hostelry. Who doesn’t after looking at all those climbs?
