Sunday August 1st.
A free weekend and an opportunity to race over a longer distance before Great Warford. Not, though, ideal preparation, four laps of Wythenshawe Park with nothing steeper than a kerb-stone to climb. This should make it a fast course, Edin Kiporir did 47:42 for 10 miles. It is a bit dispiriting being lapped on lap 2 of a 4-lap race.
Some of the local talent also took advantage, Gail getting a PB on her birthday. Steve moved to a higher level during his marathon training and unlike some who physically, or mentally, cannot pick themselves up after the euphoria of London, he's maintained his form.
Simon and I responded to our age rather less positively than Gail, we were both down on last year, though he by a lesser margin. Stuart was also a little down on last year but he's in a different class.

14 seconds faster than last year , not quite what i was after but still in bed at 8.12 , race off at 9.00 can of red bull in the car on the way not good race prep.
It’s no better being lapped on the third lap either – first time I’ve ever been overtaken in a race!
